New Signing Announcement - July 2008
The Tigers are pleased to announce the signing of Louis Cafferkey. In previous seasons Louis has played his football with current league champions Warndon Sharks and we are pleased he has chosen to continue his football development with the Tigers.
Louis is a valuable addition to the squad and his ball winning skills and excellent distribution will be a big asset to the Tigers midfield.
Birmingham City Sign Tigers Goalkeeper - July 2008
Birmingham City have won the race to sign Tigers goalkeeper, Adam Westbury. Blues beat off the challenge of Aston Villa and West Bromwich Albion for the 10-year-olds signature and Adam will now join their Junior Academy to further his football career.
Needless to say Adam's departure is a huge loss for the Tigers but it’s no surprise in view of the outstanding performances Adam has turned in over the past two seasons. Everyone involved with Nunnery Wood Colts F.C. naturally wishes Adam all the very best as he moves on to bigger things.
New Manager for Tigers - May 2008
The Tigers are pleased to announce the appointment of Colin Jones as their new manager.
Colin has been involved with the Tigers in a coaching capacity since their formation in 2006 and knows all the players well, he was, therefore, the natural choice to take over the helm following the departure of previous manager Ade Wise to Northside Colts.
Colin's first job as manager is to assure everyone that reports of Nunnery Wood Tigers demise are grossly exaggerated. You may have seen the advertisement below in the local newspaper which could be interpreted as Nunnery Wood Tigers no longer being in existence.
We can confirm that only 2 players involved last season have left the club and we are all looking forward to another successful season starting in September.
Good luck Colin, the lads and parents are all behind you.
New Sponsor Announcement - January 2008
The Tigers are delighted to announce their new team sponsors are New England, a Stourport based company, established in 1970, who have evolved from machine tool dealers into asset disposal specialists for engineering manufacturing facilities.
New England have purchased two new kits, one of which is a replacement Barcelona home kit and the second a Brazil (yellow top) away kit. Both kits are now in use and our thanks go to New England for their generosity and support.
New Signing Announcement - October 2007
The Tigers are pleased to announce the transfer of Will Henshall from Nunnery Leopards. Will has played all his football within the Nunnery Wood Colts Club starting from the development centre and for the last three seasons with the Leopards. Will will bring balance to the team, commitment & excellent ball distribution. Will is a leader and we are looking forward to working with him to develop his skills and thus his overall game. Will's debut will be against Warndon Sharks on 27.10.07.
New Signing Announcement - September 2007
Christian Eyles has joined the club at the start of the season. Christian has settled extremely well and we are delighted with his attitude and progress to date. Christian brings great quality to the team from dead ball situations, he tackles, heads the ball and covers the ground with consummate ease. You have made a great start keep it up!
New Signing Announcement - October 2006
The Tigers are pleased to announce the transfer of Luke Obrey to the Tigers from the Nunnery Wood Leopards.
Luke joins the club after scoring freely with the Leopards throughout the season. Luke has developed his skills playing with the Leopards who play football in the right way and in the correct spirit. Luke will make his debut this Saturday 18th November away to Kidderminster Lions Cubs.
The club looks forward to working with Luke to develop his game further and we hope he has a long and successful association with the Tigers.
New Kit Purchased - September 2006
The Tigers have recently purchased a new away kit in the Argentina colours. The kit will safe guard colour clashes with opponents and was worn for the first time in the 1 - 1 draw at home to Kidderminster Lion Cubs on the 30th September 2006. A photo of the team in the new kit can be found in the Tigers Gallery.
