September 2008

Pumas are very pleased to announce that Worcester College of Technology have continued their sponsorship of the team for a second successive year.

Last seasons fine looking kit continues to draw admiring glances and this season, the college have helped us to purchase some new jackets which match the kit 100%.

The new jackets replace our old waterproofs and cotton drill tops, which the lads had outgrown. The new combined garment will be worn to all our home and away games as well as being used for training when the weather is poor. It can also be worn socially as it looks very smart.

The lad’s parents are a bit jealous so orders are now being taken from them so that they too can look the part on match days.

Everyone at Nunnery Wood Pumas would like to say a very big thank you to Worcester College of Technology for their tremendous support and we hope we repay your generosity with a successful season.

WORCESTER COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY SPONSOR PUMAS - September 2007

Worcester College of Technology have sponsored Nunnery Wood Pumas this year to provide them with a smart new football kit! The College are pleased to see the outcome of the kit, which displays their logo pleasingly.

'The College runs a Talented Athletes Programme, which offers students support for their sporting activities. The programme offers an annual bursary to each student to help towards the cost of his or her chosen sport. We believe that this support can be crucial in helping young talented athletes reach their potential and in turn inspire others to do the same.

Most importantly with all the pressures on young people in today's society if they are willing to commit to something as positive as playing sports the college is commit to giving them opportunity to do so. ' Sammy Engele, Sport and Student activities officer at Worcester College of Technology.

Nunnery Wood Pumas U14's play in Division 1 of the Stourport & District Youth Football League. They currently lie second in the league and are top of their cup-qualifying group.

Seven of the current squad of thirteen have been with the team since they were formed in 2002 at U9's. The other six range in service from one to four seasons. Collectively they are a great bunch of lads who thoroughly enjoy their football.

Since 2002 the Pumas have achieved many things. As a team they won the U9's league in their first season as well as the prestigious Rushden and Diamonds tournament. They followed that with numerous other tournament wins whilst never finishing below 8th in the league. Individually they have in their ranks a county cricketer, two Worcester City players, one Stourport Swifts player and one with four seasons experience at West Bromwich Albions academy.

The Pumas are a credit to their club Nunnery Wood Colts F.C. an F.A.Charter Standard Club who also run sides from U8's to U15's as well as a Development Centre for 5-8 year olds on Saturdays, 1-2pm at the University.
