Players Code of Conduct
- Obligations towards the game
Make every effort to develop their own sporting abilities in terms of skill, technique, tactics and stamina.
Give maximum effort and strive for the best possible performance during a game regardless of the scoreline.
Avoid all forms of gamesmanship and time wasting.
Always have regards for the best interests of the game.
Not use inappropriate language.
- Obligations towards own team
Make every effort consistent with Fair Play and the Laws of the Game to help their own team win.
Always encourage and support their team-mates regardless of performance or ability.
- Respect for the laws of the Game and competition rules
Know and abide by the Laws, rules and spirit of the game, and the competition rules.
Accept success and failure, victory and defeat, equally.
- Respect towards Opponents
Treat opponents with due respect at all times, irrespective of the result of the game.
Safeguard the physical fitness of opponents, avoid violence and rough play, and show courtesy to injured players.
- Respect towards the Match Officials
Accept the decision of a Match Official without protest.
Avoid words or actions which may mislead a Match Official.
Show due respect towards Match Officials.
- Respect towards Team Officials
Abide by the instructions of their Coach and Team Officials, provided they do not contradict the spirit of this code.
Show due respect towards the Team Officials of the opposition.
Coaches Code of Conduct
Respect the rights, dignity and worth of each and every person and treat each equally within the context of the sport.
Place the well being and safety of each player above all other considerations including the development of performance.
Adhere to all guidelines laid down by the governing bodies.
Develop an appropriate working relationship with each player based on mutual trust and respect.
Must not exert undue influence to obtain personal benefit or reward.
Encourage and guide players to accept responsibility for their own behaviour and performance.
Ensure that the activities they direct or advocate are appropriate for the age, maturity, experience and ability of the players.
Should, at the outset, clarify with the players (and, where appropriate, parent or guardian) exactly what is expected of them and also what they are entitled to expect from their coach.
Co-operate fully with other specialists (e.g. other coaches, officials, sports scientists, doctors, physiotherapists) in the best interests of the players.
Always promote the positive aspects of the sport (e.g. fair play) and never condone violation of the Laws of the Game or relevant rules and regulations or the use of prohibited substances or techniques.
Consistently display high standards of behaviour and appearance.
Must not use or tolerate inappropriate language.
Parents Code of Conduct
Always stand behind the spectator lines at all times, at the side of the pitch, not along the goal lines.
Always allow the Management Team to manage the team, please shout constructive encouragement to the players, but not instructions, this will confuse them.
Under no circumstances shout at/berate any official - no matter what the decision.
Under no circumstances shout at/berate opposing parents - no matter what the provocation
The Management Team will confirm/clarify who should enter the changing rooms before or after the match.
Never criticise any player on either side.
Under no circumstances should foul and abusive language be used.
Please notify the Manager of any unavailability one week in advance (last minute illnesses aside).
If you have any queries or concerns talk to the team management - not amongst yourselves (but not during the game).
Ensure that subs are paid to the Treasurer promptly at training and at games.
Turn up on time at arranged meeting point for matches.
Support any social events or other fund raising events that are arranged.
Please respect the Management Teams decisions regarding team selection on match days (any concerns should be raised politely with the management away from the match).
At home games ensure players and supporters respect the facilities that are provided.
Respect the facilities provided by teams when playing away.
Remember that management give their own time and effort to the running of the club and need your support to make it happen.
Please remember, the aim of the club is to provide enjoyment for the boys whilst giving them the opportunity to play quality football in a sporting manner that brings credit to Nunnery Wood Colts. The players will be doing their part so please ensure that we all do ours.
Failure to abide by the above code of conduct could lead to your child being asked to leave the club (and it will be your job to tell them why) .

Team Officials Code of Conduct
- Obligations towards the game
Set a positive example for others, particularly young players.
Promote and develop his own team having regard for the interests of others.
Avoid all forms of gamesmanship.
Show due respect to match officials and others involved in the game.
Not use or tolerate inappropriate language.
- Obligations towards the team
Make every effort to develop the sporting, technical and tactical levels of the club / team.
Give priority to the interests of the team over individual interests.
Resist all illegal or unsporting influences, including banned substances and techniques.
Show due respect to the interests of players, coaches and other officials, at their own club / team and others.
- Respect towards the Match Officials
Accept the decisions of the match officials without protest.
Avoid words or actions which may mislead match officials.
Show due respect towards match officials.
