Success for Nunnery Wood Colts on the South Coast
Two teams from Nunnery Wood Colts FC visited Weymouth to compete in the Weymouth Classic Tournament over the recent Bank Holiday weekend with stunning results. The Scorpions U9 team managed to add to their growing trophy cabinet going unbeaten over the four games against teams from Wales, Coventry and London, scoring an average of over three goals per game and conceding none.
The Sharks U10 team did equally well clinching their first ever trophy with a last gasp, sudden death, penalty shootout victory over local side Corfe Mullen FC.
These victories add to the recent league and cup results and really show how well Nunnery Wood Colts are performing, which is a real credit to all those involved in the club, from the players to the parents and supporters to the volunteers without whom the club wouldn't exist.

Nunnery club well represented in County Schools Champions team
Saturday 24th November 2007
Perdiswell School 1 Hartlebury School 0
Worcestershire FA County Grand Final
Nunnery Wood Colts players, past and present, made up half of the 8 man squad from Perdiswell Primary School who became Worcestershire County Schools Champions after an epic encounter with Hartlebury School in the grand final at Kidderminster Harriers Aggborough Stadium.
Perdiswell School, the South Worcestershire champions, were matched with Hartlebury School, the North Worcestershire champions, in the County Grand Final under the floodlights immediately after Kidderminster Harriers Blue Square Conference league match with Oxford United. The 8-man Perdiswell squad contained Nunnery Panthers players Joe Gilbert and Harry Green, Nunnery Tigers player Will Henshall and former Nunnery Lions player Jamie Smith, now with league 1 Walsall.
The final was a tight affair throughout with two very good teams cancelling each other out resulting in very few clear cut chances being created. Perdiswell were the better organised team and as the match progressed appeared the most likely to score but mid way through the second half it was Hartlebury who fashioned the clearest chances and twice goalkeeper Joe Gilbert made stunning saves when a Hartlebury goal seemed inevitable. Harry Green was assured and commanding at the back, Jamie Smith ran the game from midfield and Will Henshall worked hard up front as the lone striker against a big and able Hartlebury defence.
With the match deadlocked at 0-0 and looking as thought it was heading for extra time and penalties a fine Nunnery combination settled it with Will Henshall finishing expertly from Jamie Smith's assist.
Final Score: Perdiswell School 1 Hartlebury School 0. Perdiswell crowned as Worcestershire FA County Schools Champions.
A great achievement for Perdiswell School and a fine advertisement for both schools football and Nunnery Wood Colts Football Club.
